About

I’m a writer by trade, studied journalism and dabbled in various types of media, so hopefully my ramblings here will be coherent at least.

This blog is also an attempt to de-sensationalise the narrative around Manchester United Football Club - too often a loss is a total crisis, a win is a complete triumph and there’s no in between.

Each piece will be as considered as possible, digging deeper into the issues that face the club and hopefully providing a calmer analysis, usually at least a day after the events on (or off) the pitch.

I know this bucks the trend of media and content these days - it’s all about misleading headlines, uproar and clicks - but I believe there’s still a place for considered long-form content.

Maybe I’m just old and boring, but I find the nature of media and social media coverage of United exhausting now, smarmy ex pro’s revelling in the club’s struggles and keyboard warriors who never grew up giving faceless ‘banter’ from their bedroom in their mum’s house.

I want us to be better - present a United Front. See how clever the name is, yeah?

So, thank you for reading - I hope you enjoy reading what I post on here - please comment wherever you want (keep it clean-ish) and I’ll try to get back to every one of you who does.

The logo of the United Front features a red shield with a black stripe and a gold trident with three prongs at the top, and the words 'THE UNITED FRONT' at the bottom.
